Getting started
What happens after I contact you?
Your local Fundraising Coach will discuss your program’s needs, recommend a product or combination of fundraisers, and walk you through setup, timing and pricing.
What does our Fundraising Coach help with?
Your coach helps plan and prepare your campaign, customize its story, and lead your group through launch and sharing. You have a person to turn to throughout the fundraiser.
Will our team have to keep sending reminders?
Personal invitations start the outreach. Scheduled email and text reminders help keep the campaign in front of potential supporters, alongside social sharing.
Can everyone participate, even if their family cannot donate?
Yes. Participants can help by sharing the fundraiser with family and friends. Participation does not require every household to make a donation.
Choosing your product
What fundraising options are available?
Choose from donation-only fundraising, PopParadise gourmet popcorn, the digital discount app, and spirit shops. Your coach can help you plan a main fundraiser and a complementary fundraiser later in the year.
Do we handle or deliver the popcorn?
Popcorn orders ship directly to supporters. Your program can run an online campaign without storing bags or organizing product distribution.
Can people donate instead of buying a product?
An optional Donation Only add-on gives supporters a way to give without buying a product, or to add a donation to their purchase. Ask your coach about including it in your campaign.
How does the digital discount app work?
Supporters purchase an annual subscription and explore local and national offers with a searchable map. Many deals are reusable; availability and redemption limits vary by merchant. Renewals can generate revenue for the following year’s fundraiser.
Can we run another fundraiser after our first one?
Yes. Existing Vertical Raise customers can reuse their accounts and saved contacts for a second campaign. You can also use popcorn or discounts after a donation campaign run with another provider.
VR vs. the Competition
Why would a platform charge less?
A lower fee can reflect a smaller service package. Some platforms provide the software while your staff handles campaign preparation, setup, participant training and promotion. With Vertical Raise, your local Fundraising Coach helps put the plan into action. Compare what is included—not just the headline rate.
What does rep-led preparation add?
A website can collect support, but a successful launch needs preparation. Your coach helps shape your campaign story, prepare your group, guide participant setup and get invitations out. That guidance can influence how many people participate and how effectively your fundraiser reaches supporters.
How is your marketing different from just sharing a link?
Sharing a link is one way to promote a campaign. Vertical Raise also uses personal invitations, scheduled email and text reminders, and Parent Share to help reach family networks directly. Your fundraiser keeps receiving follow-up without your staff having to create and send every reminder themselves.
Will our fundraiser feel like our program?
Your program has its own goals, personality and community. We help communicate that story instead of relying on a generic description. Your coach can also help create an engaging campaign video and lead a launch that gets participants involved and excited to support their program.
Why choose a partner with more than one fundraising product?
Your main fundraiser and your next boost do not have to be the same offer. Donation-only campaigns, gourmet popcorn, digital discounts and spirit shops give you more ways to build a year-round plan. Existing Vertical Raise customers can reuse accounts and saved contacts when launching a second campaign.
What makes your popcorn fundraiser different from a product-only campaign?
Supporters can buy popcorn, add a donation, or choose to give without buying a product when the optional Donation Only add-on is included. That opens the campaign to people who want to help but do not want popcorn. Donation support also provides a higher return to your program; your coach will explain the product and donation options before launch.
How should we compare fundraising partners?
Ask who will prepare your campaign, help participants get started, customize your story, handle follow-up and support you after launch. Then compare product choices, the return to your program and the work your staff will take on. The most useful comparison is the complete fundraising plan—not the fee by itself.
Pricing & Payments
What are the pricing and profit options?
The fundraising product and setup determine your pricing and program return. Your local coach will explain the options before launch so you can choose the right plan for your needs.
I heard Vertical Raise uses a Tip Model.
It's a huge topic of debate. Yes, we proudly do! This gives us the ability to give programs back more % in profit now without sacrificing quality and service that gets them biggest results. We now cover the donor's 4% credit card fee included in our reduced pricing, and replaced that with the option to tip to help us recoup what we've discounted. Despite what our competition may say, tips are COMPLETELY OPTIONAL and mistaken tips can be refunded. Some of our other major competitors decided to double dip and charge for credit card fee and also tip and fail to mention it. Or others have a sliding credit card processing fee that goes under the radar. Note: No Tip Legacy Pricing is still available for those who prefer it.
Are supporters’ contact details sold?
No. That is not our business model. It is generally a practice by low cost providers to create additional revenue streams to stay in business. Any Invited contact details are used only for the fundraiser in our system, and donors and other potentials supporters can opt out of campaign reminders at any time.
How and when does our program receive its funds?
Payments are paid out through either one check or daily direct deposit payments when requested. Checks are given to the customer between 5 and 10 business days after the fundraiser closes. Usually, they are delivered around the shorter end of that estimate or sooner.
